Welcome to Secologies, a platform dedicated to exploring the science and practice of cybersecurity. I am the site’s founder, Hong-Sheng Huang.
Secologies is an independent, research-driven cybersecurity platform devoted to the systematic study and analysis of information security.
We do not view cybersecurity as a single technical discipline. Rather, we see it as a collection of interconnected “security ecologies” (or secologies) encompassing incident investigation, defensive system architecture, cryptanalysis and algorithmic research, and real-world cybersecurity practice.
Through in-depth technical analysis, research notes, and long-form investigative articles, Secologies aims to build a lasting bridge between academic rigor and engineering practice.
At the same time, we believe that cybersecurity has never been a problem with a single solution.
This website documents how security systems are conceived, designed, and analyzed across different contexts—from low-level technical details to incident-level investigation and reasoning.
We believe that security emerges from context, constraints, and trade-offs. By organizing diverse “security perspectives and practical pathways” (secologies), we strive to make complex systems more understandable and more defensible.
Accordingly, this website seeks to construct a comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem from a wide range of perspectives, offering readers our distinctive viewpoint. To achieve this, we begin at the atomic level and ultimately explore the broader domains of information and communications security.
